"When we scream our lips don't make a sound..." - Thousand Foot Krutch
The Christian has a responsibility to address social issues, especially ones that deal with sinful practices. The world definitely needs to know the ground that we stand on. Personally, I can't get behind the online soapbox of arguing and debate.
At one time I could and as a College student, I made a number of video blogs which tackled issues such as the "It Gets Better" movement and government meetings corresponding to the rise of radical issues in the United States. As I've grown and moved forward in my relationship with Christ, I've learned more and more about the most important adjective that's supposed to describe who I am as a believer in Jesus.
The word enables me to overcome my PAST and work towards a deeper and closer walk with Him.
The word enables me to begin a conversation with someone about the HOPE found in Jesus.
The word enables me to overlook differences and see people as He sees them.
The fact is that we all have a past. Every single Christian has a past that we have had to move away from when we recognize that we've been saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. It is by grace and grace alone that we are called children of God.
The fact is that all have hope in Jesus. The murderer, the thief, the liar, and the hypocrite; all are forgiven through the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made for each and every one of us.
The fact is that our God is a gracious God. Our Lord sees past our flaws and imperfections and gives us a second chance. Let's look past the flaws and imperfections in others and shower them with grace. We are saved by grace and grace alone.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
Thank you LORD. I am thankful to be loved by you.
