Last weekend I had the privilege of seeing three concerts all over the course of weekend. There was no plans to see three concerts in one weekend, it really was a bit of a coincidence.
It started out on Friday with the Bible Tour in Reading, PA. As many of you know, I am an Assistant Pastor at Living Hope Worship Center in Swedesboro, New Jersey. A few months ago, we did a training at Living Hope to be able to volunteer at K-Love events here in our region. The Bible Tour was our first group event that we did; volunteering in the morning and then having the privilege of seeing the tour in the evening. We had different stations working; I was working with the merch team and set up the displays for Aaron Shust, Blanca, and Love and the Outcome. It was a great time and we all really enjoyed the concert. Below I posted a video of all of the artists together singing the song, "Holy Spirit."
On Saturday my brother and I went and saw the Underoath Rebirth Tour at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. Underoath had a huge influence on me as a young man and it was incredible to be able to see them perform their huge albums, "They're Only Chasing Safety" and "Define the Great Line." I've listened to those albums for over ten years. It was a great concert and very different for sure from the Bible Tour.
The next day the men's group from Living Hope headed over to New Castle, Delaware to see Carman in concert. Carman was a huge influence on me growing up and I listened to his music all the time. For those who do not know, Carman was diagnosed with cancer a few years back and now is cancer free and back on tour, sharing his heart and leading souls to the Lord. He's slowed down a bit since the last time that I saw him in Madison Square Garden in New York City, but overall a great show as well performing some of the classics including "Not Ashamed" and "Who's in the House."
Seen any great concerts lately? I'd love to hear about it. Feel free to comment here on the blog or let me know on Twitter: @solidschultz.
