Reflections from 2016

This picture is from August when I took my brother to Red Bank Park. I was looking at some photos today from that visit and this one seemed to go along with some of my recent thoughts and prayers. I have once again been reminded of God's faithfulness, despite obstacles and setbacks.

Through trusting in God, my family was able to rise above difficult situations and hardships, past and present. It wasn't easy to persevere, but with God anything is possible. Through learning and growing through my mistakes, the Lord has taught me once again not only the importance of humility, but also how much can be accomplished when I open myself up to His leading. When I am obedient, anything is possible. I believe that.

2016 was an awesome year but it was also very difficult at points. There were times of tremendous faith and there were times of real questioning. And yet, God was there through it all. The Lord was faithful through it all.

As we begin to look at 2017, you may find yourself in a difficult spot. Things haven't been going the greatest in your world. Don't give up! I understand that things may have been a struggle and I encourage you to hold on. Take your focus off of the situation that you find yourself in and focus on the faithfulness of the Lord. God has brought you to this point and He will bring you through this.

I have reflected this week on my journey to this point and I thank the Lord for His patience, His mercy, and His faithfulness through this and through each and every point of my life.

The journey isn't over and by the grace of God, I am the man I am today. By the grace of God, we press on and move forward. By the grace of God, He will bring you through this.

Thank you Lord for loving us despite our flaws and imperfections. Thank you for the promises found in your word. Thank you for your faithfulness and that you are trustworthy. You are honest.

Thank you Lord for never giving up on me.
